This blog is devoted to topics that interest me and perhaps I'll post information that "the mainstream media" chooses to ignore or deemphasize. The point here is not to debate what I post, just consider it another point of view if you disagree with it, you know, be "open minded" and "tolerant."

Arizona State Univ. Revises Policy, Recognizes Campus Christian Group
Arizona State University says it will no longer deny official recognition to a Christian student group because of its requirement that its members and leaders be Christians... Attorneys for Arizona State have agreed to reinstate the school's Christian Legal Society chapter and recognize that religious student groups can select leaders and members who are Christians. The move comes after CLS filed a lawsuit challenging a portion of ASU's sexual orientation non-discrimination policy which would require the group to admit non-Christians and homosexuals as members and leaders.... http://headlines.agapepress.org/archive/9/122005c.asp

Union Hiring
Union hires people to picket Wal-Mart with the complaint of low wages and unaffordable heath insurance. Picketers are paid $6/hour and receive no benefits.http://www.lasvegasweekly.com/2005/09/08/awsi1.html

Stop making fun of me!! Ho-Ho-Ho!!
Liberal comedian Garrison Keillor serves a blogger with a cease and desist for "A Prairie Ho Companion" parody t-shirts… now he's getting bad press over it. Guess he can’t take what he dishes out.

Sept. 13, 2005 Corporations, foundations, small businesses and hundreds of thousands of individual contributors have pledged or given $739 million in disaster relief to the victims of Hurricane Katrina... http://newsmax.com/archives/articles/2005/9/12/201248.shtml

In Katrina's Aftermath, Church Workers Help With Relief, Recovery Efforts
9/12/2005 ...Every day more than 10,000 meals are prepared and served in the parking lot of First Baptist Church of Pascagoula while, across the street, tens of thousands of hurricane victims have received bottled water, baby formula, ice and other non-perishable items at a distribution point. A medical clinic has also been set up in the church parking lot, where volunteer personnel are providing free checkups and medicine...http://headlines.agapepress.org/archive/9/122005b.asp

Sean Penn totin' a shotgun in New Orleans
A photograph plastered on the cover of the New York Post Saturday shows a pump-action shotgun in Penn's right hand and a flak jacket in his left...see photo http://www.nypost.com/seven/09102005/index.shtml
Reminds me of Geraldo Rivera carrying a pistol around Tora Bora Afghanistan and getting roundly ridiculed for it. If this had been any noted conservative actors, such as Mel Gibson, James Woods or Clint Eastwood, they would be bashed by every liberal news agency, from the New York Times to CNN. I hope Sean didn't fire at a helicopter with photographers in it like he did a few years ago...

La. death toll now 279
9/12/2005 The state Department of Health and Hospitals said today Louisiana's death toll from Hurricane Katrina now stands at 279. That figure, which comes from statistics reported by local coroners to state officials... [I read that the 40 bodies “found” in a hospital were not a result of the hurricane/flood, they just had no opportunity to dispose of them, yet they are counted among the “casualties”]

Not As Bad As Anticipated
Sept. 12 - Despite apocalyptic predictions, marines searching St. Bernard Parish - in the direct path of Hurricane Katrina - have yet to find any bodies, commanders said Monday... "The areas worst flooded, as our guys are getting in there, they're not finding anything," said Captain Kahn, referring to the bodies that were anticipated..."You'll be surprised how low the death toll is," said Mr. Labat, who is also a mosquito control officer. "There are about 70,000 people here, and 70 percent of them got out early." ...Officers on helicopter flyovers had originally thought a long line of cars and trucks pointed north on highway 39 had been caught by the flood and swept aside, but the vehicles were simply left parked on the highest ground, it turned out...Dire warnings, from marine planning sessions, of a devil's brew of toxic floodwater, decomposing bodies, feral swamp creatures and hostile, gun-toting locals have just not materialized...

Christianity Dying in Its Birthplace
September 13, 2005 ... fifteen Muslim youths from one village...rampaged a neighboring all-Christian village. The reason for the assault? A Muslim woman fell in love with her Christian boss, Mehdi Khouriyye, owner of a tailor shop. ..."the fact that the Muslim aggressors have been released while the Christian tailor-shop owner is still being held, at best symbolizes the PA's indifference to the plight of Palestinian Christians" ...Christians in the Bethlehem region alone have suffered 93 cases of injustice in 2000-04. In the worst of these, in 2002, Muslims murdered the two Amre sisters, 17 and 19 years old, whom they called prostitutes. A post-mortem, however, showed the teenagers to have been virgins - and to have been tortured...One factor that could help prevent this dismal outcome would be for mainline Protestant churches to speak out against Palestinian Muslims for tormenting and expelling Palestinian Christians. To date, unfortunately, the Episcopalian, Evangelical Lutheran, Methodist, and Presbyterian churches, as well as the United Church of Christ, have ignored the problem... http://www.cnsnews.com/Commentary.asp

5 years late, Los Angeles Times reveals Palestinian
The No. 1 inspiration for Palestinian suicide bombers – namely, the heart-wrenching videotaped shooting by Israeli soldiers of a 12-year-old Palestinian boy – was a fraud, according to a Los Angeles Times column, which reports that countless horrific terror attacks on Israelis can rightfully be blamed on repeated international broadcasts of the fabricated "news" report. Yet, while the fraud may be news to the Los Angeles Times, it isn't for readers of WND… ...In 2003 an independent journalistic investigation concluded that the al-Dura affair was actually a piece of Palestinian street theater, similar to the dramatic Palestinian funeral processions that were observed after the Israeli incursion into the Jenin refugee camp. During that public spectacle, a martyred "corpse" twice fell off the stretcher, only to hop back up and retake his place in the procession. (The Palestinians had claimed 3,000 deaths in Jenin – the actual toll turned out to be 52.)

Stop making so much noise!
Sept. 13, 2005 …The levee ”break” was a result of a steel barge that came crashing into one of the levee walls, and not the failure of that levee to hold back an immense tidal wave... and it was one of the newly improved levees.

...[other] Vital repairs for which a whopping $600 million had been appropriated by the federal government were stopped after residents of the Ninth Ward complained about the noise created by the repair project and sued to halt it...As one editorialist wrote, "Given the corruption in municipal agencies - one not necessarily cynical Louisiana politician said some time ago that "Half of Louisiana is under water and the other half is under indictment…" http://newsmax.com/archives/articles/2005/9/12/210912.shtml

FEMA - Disaster of an Agency
... get this: [in 1992] with another Bush sitting in the Oval Office, and [hurricane] Andrew just having battered Florida, Gov. Chiles refused to request federal aid. Transportation Secretary Andrew Card had to beg Chiles to ask for the aid, while 160,000 people were homeless and 82,000 businesses were ruined. Governor Chiles - meet Governor Blanco...The request was finally made, but FEMA had trouble getting untracked. For several days, people in Florida were left without food and water. Some residents put up signs with anti-Bush sentiments such as "What do George Bush and Hurricane Andrew have in common? They're both natural disasters." ...In 1993, his first year in office, President Clinton set a new record by declaring fifty-eight disasters. By February of 1996, Clinton was bragging that FEMA could simply set up an 800 number and victims could see government checks arriving within days...Investor's Business Daily reported in May 1994 that FEMA was cutting checks to homeowners who were fully covered by insurance.... Radio station can't sell any ad for Air America
...A California radio station is pleading for advertisers to sponsor the liberal programming of the Air America shows it broadcasts, while noting the conservative Rush Limbaugh show is virtually sold out on its sister station. ...Though there has been some letters and calls of appreciation for airing the liberal content, not a single business has purchased air time during Air America's slot since its debut. ..
